Risa Hokamura
東京都小平市出身。3歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。
17歳でアメリカの第10回インディアナポリス国際ヴァイオリンコンクールに出場し、第2位を受賞。同年、ニューヨークで開催されたYoung Concert Artists International Auditionで優勝したことにより、マネジメント契約とニューヨーク、ワシントンでのデビューリサイタルの機会を得た。
これまでにレナード・スラットキン、大友直人、広上淳一、山田和樹、鈴木優人、角田鋼亮らの指揮のもと、インディアナポリス響、イーストコースト・チェンバーオーケストラ、マンシー響、グリーンズボロ響、ケネット響、東京フィル、東京響、新日本フィル、神奈川フィル、大阪フィル、関西フィル、札幌響、広島響、山形響などと共演し、技量の高さとしなやかな自然さを披露している。リサイタルでは、紀尾井ホール、ザ・シンフォニーホール、りゅーとぴあ（新潟市民芸術文化会館）、ルネこだいら、アクトシティ浜松、マーキン・コンサートホール、ケネディーセンターなどに登場。
NHK-FM「今日は一日"ありがとうFM50"三昧 クラシック編」、「リサイタル・パッシオ」、BSテレビ東京「エンター・ザ・ミュージック」などメディアにも多数出演している。
これまでに小林健次、原田幸一郎、神尾真由子、小栗まち絵、ルーシー・ロバート、チョーリャン・リンの各氏に師事。2024年にマンハッタン音楽学校を実技最優秀で卒業。2018年度・2019年度ローム ミュージック ファンデーション奨学生。第47回江副記念リクルート財団奨学生。 日本音楽財団より、1715年製のストラディヴァリウス「ヨアヒム」を貸与されている。

Risa Hokamura
Praised for her playing as “both powerful and reflective, sweet and steely” (Upstage, Indianapolis), Japanese violinist Risa Hokamura first gained international recognition at the age of 17 when she won First Prize at the 2018 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions. She also received the Tannery Pond Concerts Prize, the Ruth Laredo Memorial Prize, the Ronald A. Asherson Prize, and the Silver Medal at the 2018 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis, where she performed Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Leonard Slatkin.
Risa has made recital debuts at Merkin Concert Hall and the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater, both presented by Young Concert Artists, as well as at Kioi Hall and Symphony Hall. Recently, she performed all six Ysaÿe Sonatas in a single evening at Kioi Hall in Tokyo. As a soloist, she has performed with numerous prestigious orchestras, including the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, East Coast Chamber Orchestra, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra, Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Sapporo Symphony Orchestra, Hiroshima Symphony Orchestra, Yamagata Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, and Gunma Symphony Orchestra.
She began playing the violin at the age of three and studied with Kenji Kobayashi from the age of seven. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Violin Performance at the Manhattan School of Music as a full-scholarship student, studying with Koichiro Harada and Lucie Robert, with additional mentorship from Cho-Liang Lin. Her past mentors include Machie Oguri and Mayuko Kamio.
Risa received a scholarship from the Rohm Music Foundation in 2018 and 2019. More recently, she has been a recipient of an Ezoe Memorial Foundation scholarship. She plays the 1715 “Joachim” Stradivarius violin, generously loaned to her by the Nippon Music Foundation.
